- Whilst sitting, move your torso slightly back, forward and side to side a few times to make sure your shoulders are aligned directly over your hips.
- Slide your shoulder blades down your back so your shoulders move away from your ears.
- Notice the crown of your head rising towards the ceiling.
Take a few slow breaths to end.
This may seem like a simple technique, but the position your body is in sends constant signals back to your brain which impacts how you feel and think.
Why not try...
Find a short phrase which helps you remember this technique, like "head over heart, heart over pelvis" or "shoulders down, head high" and gently remind yourself of it when you're feeling low.
